FIESTA Indianapolis

About FIESTA Indianapolis:

Since 1980, La Plaza’s FIESTA Indianapolis has been the premier Hispanic Heritage Month celebration in Indiana, bringing together a vibrant and diverse community and enhancing the cultural fabric of Indianapolis. Over 15,000 Hoosiers join FIESTA Indianapolis every year, where they enjoy a day of music, dancing, food, children’s activities, a health and wellness fair, and community service booths.

This free, family event is held in September in downtown Indianapolis.

The main objectives of La Plaza’s FIESTA Indianapolis are:

• To celebrate and share the Hispanic culture with the entire community
• Enhance the cultural fabric of the city
• Expand Cultural Tourism in Indianapolis
• Disseminate information to the Hispanic Community

FIESTA Indianapolis celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month and the Latino community in Indiana. This year we are bringing community members a virtual experience with a series of events for Hispanic Heritage Month.

Night of the Americas

About Night of the Americas:

Every Spring, La Plaza hosts our unique Night of the Americas event to raise community awareness and support for La Plaza’s impactful programs.

During this Latin American themed evening celebration, over 400 of our city’s business, public, and community leaders learn more about La Plaza’s work, savor a delicious ethnic dinner, and enjoy dancing under the stars. The students and families served by La Plaza have a chance to share their stories with the community.

Finally, La Plaza names the annual Hispanic American Service Award winners and awards annual college scholarships through the La Plaza Scholarship Fund.

An important update regarding our 15th Annual Night of the Americas:

First and foremost – we hope that you, your family, and colleagues are well and in good spirits.  This is an unprecedented time for everyone, and much like you at your organization, we at La Plaza are trying to navigate the pandemic as best we can while continuing to support our mission. This means shifting priorities where needed to respond to the needs of those most vulnerable during this crisis, and creatively approaching new challenges as they arise.

We are proud to be a front line organization serving some of the most vulnerable members of our communities with necessities like food, rental and utility assistance, weekly virtual tutoring support for students, and interactive live informational sessions for the community at large. We are honored to have your support for our Night of the Americas event (NOTA) – one of the most important events on the calendar each year for La Plaza to fundraise and drive awareness in the community.

As with all other events with large gatherings of people, NOTA is not going to physically take place as planned. We are actively working to reimagine our events this year, as virtual events where possible.  In the meantime, we understand the COVID-19 crisis is impacting everyone in unique ways and wanted to reach out.

In lieu of an in-person event, we will host our Night of the Americas online, via Zoom and live-streamed on Facebook on Friday, June 12, 2020, from 7 pm – 8 pm.
